The 15th Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET Plan) conference will take place in Bled, Slovenia on 25-26 November 2021. This year’s hybrid event, combining a “virtual event” and an “in person event” will bring together high-level speakers, policymakers, industry, researchers, academia and the general public, focusing on important energy-related topics in the new post-COVID policy realities. The conference is co-organised by the Republic of Slovenia’s Ministry of Infrastructure as entity responsible of all activities on energy policies during the time of Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the European Council of the European Union and the European Commission.
About the conference
The aim of this year’s SET Plan Conference is to contribute to current debates on climate and energy policies, as well as the Member States’ recovery and resilience investments and reforms for addressing the economic and social impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, whilst ensuring that their economies undertake the green and digital transitions, becoming more sustainable and resilient. The Conference will also give inputs for better policymaking in the different SET Plan areas.
The Conference will be organised around four different holistic content sets and not by technologies:
- energy to enable the transition,
- energy for sustainable and inclusive society,
- energy for smart industrial growth and
- the future of the SET Plan.
Under these pillars the Conference will address important topics such as energy efficiency, smart buildings and cities, the renovation wave, smart grids, new technologies for the energy transition in the field of renewable energy, nuclear and other low-carbon sources (most particularly hydrogen).
The 15th Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET Plan) conference will take place in Bled, Slovenia on 25-26 November 2021 and it will be held as hybrid event, combining a “virtual event2 and an “in person event”.
A Plenary session with high-level participation will be followed by different panel sessions, where we will show how the different R&I SET Plan strategic components contribute to reaching the 2030 and 2050 EU Green Deal objectives.
The Conference will feature other technical sessions organised through participatory methods as well as matchmaking and hybrid (on-site and on-line) exhibitions. Online interactive tools will facilitate wide participation of the audience.
The Conference aims to gather an audience of up to 700 participants from within and outside EU countries (through a hybrid event where web-streaming is foreseen), i.e. policymakers, recognised researchers, top decision-makers (preferably from industry) and leading innovators, and to increase the participation of women and youth.
Furthermore, it will give the opportunity to stakeholders from relevant private and public sectors, as well as experts and successful practitioners to use it as a platform where their voice will be heard.
The Conference programme will combine panel discussions and participatory sessions, as well as matchmaking, side, and networking events. A professional moderation team will lead the event and execute the interaction with speakers and the audience. Online social network tools will be used for the audience engagement. Panel discussions will be in order to engage all the participants (on-site and online), those in the hall and at home, to have equal opportunity to participate.
The event is free of charge.
